Ingredients: 300 g (2/3 pound) of chicken, diced; 2 leeks sliced into rings of 1 cm (1/2 inch); 5 ml (1 teaspoon) of sugar; 5 ml (1 teaspoon) of soy sauce; 5 ml (1 teaspoon) of sesame oil; 30 ml (2 tablespoons) of soy sauce; 15 ml (1 tablespoon) of sugar; 5 ml (1 teaspoon) of garlic, chopped; 15 ml (1 tablespoon) of sesame seeds; 20 ml (4 teaspoons) of sesame oil; Pepper, up to taste

For the marinade:

5 ml (1 teaspoon) of sugar
5 ml (1 teaspoon) of soy sauce
5 ml (1 teaspoon) of sesame oil

For the sauce:

30 ml (2 tablespoons) of soy sauce
15 ml (1 tablespoon) of sugar
5 ml (1 teaspoon) of garlic, chopped
15 ml (1 tablespoon) of sesame seeds
20 ml (4 teaspoons) of sesame oil
Pepper, up to taste

Preparation

Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
Combine marinade ingredients and marinate chicken in marinade for 15 minutes.
Combine sauce ingredients in a bowl.
Skewer chicken, alternating with leek slices. Dip skewers in sauce and cook for 15 to 20 minutes, basting with sauce occasionally or until chicken loses its pinkish colour.
